Subject: Do not react to suspicious e-mails

Do not react to suspicious e-mails claiming to be from Information Technology Service Center, government, or other academic institutes. They may link to harmful websites and steal your personal confidential information or spread computer viruses.

Prevention Methods:
1. Don’t easily offer your personal information: Do not respond to any e-mail requesting for your personal information (e.g., username, password, credit card details).
2. Avoid opening uncertain attachments: This is because viruses can hide in a compressed file or disguise as any type of file, such as .doc, .pdf, and jpg.
3. Install anti-virus software with constant updates: The anti-virus software can provide an additional protection in case of opening a viral file.
4. Don’t open and read e-mails of questionable sources.
5. Avoid using links provided by e-mails: Type the URL into your browser by yourself. This can prevent fake URL directing you to the fake site.
6. Please verify e-mails with the sender if necessary.
